Wenecja to miasto położone na 118 bagnistych wyspach podzielonych na 16 dzielnic (sestieri). Miasto poprzecinane jest licznymi kanałami pełniącymi role ulic. Najbardziej znane zabytki Wenecji to Basilica di San Marco i Palazzo Ducale.
